Glenone Montessori Preparatory School
is a unique alternative to a creche, a childminder or a nanny.
Glenone Montessori pupils can enjoy magical visits to the completely private pocket forest, a mix of beautiful rare ancient trees and modern plants, in the private gardens of Susie's family home - Glenone House.
There is a variety of mature rare trees making this little forest area completely unique not just in Dublin, but in Ireland.
The trees date back to the mid 1800's including the award winning Irish Champion magnificent
Arbutus x Andrachnoides,
Glenone teachers and pupils affectionately call it The Guardian Tree and it is known internationally as the tallest and widest
Arbutus x Andracnoides in the geographical British Isles.
Glenone's magical paradox .... the unique,
very small and completely private, safe little forest with rare trees, is in the heart of bustling Rathgar Village in Dublin city.
It is home to many varieties of birds.
Often squirrels are spotted racing up into the high branches!
"There is no description, no image in any book that is capable of replacing the sight of real trees, and all the life to be found around them, in a real forest."
- Dr Maria Montessori.
